As a three-time UCLA alumnus, a former student body President and a popular adjunct professor who served in many capacities at UCLA, it was Lew’s passion to ensure the dreams of UCLA students were realized. In Lew's memory, our effort is focused on rallying support from friends and colleagues to collectively celebrate his legacy while benefiting a large number of UCLA students pursuing careers in technology. The Dr. Lew Leeburg Memorial Fund for Student Success will carry on Lew’s vision of connecting the Southern California technology community to UCLA and its students. Our campaign aims to strengthen these connections, leading to an increasingly robust tech community in our backyard.
Lew was the co-founder of UCLA IS Associates (ISA), which unites the local tech community with UCLA to offer exceptional networking, quality professional education and informed insights into innovative and disruptive technologies. ISA’s programs are delivered through close collaboration with world-renowned UCLA faculty, Silicon Beach entrepreneurs and tech leaders from organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies, to midsize enterprises, start-ups, the public sector and other providers.
The Dr. Lew Leeburg Memorial Fund for Student Success will allow students interested in technology to move beyond the classroom and apply their knowledge in areas of much greater impact. Your contribution to this fund will provide students with opportunities to take part in hack-a-thons, advance their research studies, and put students’ knowledge of theory into practice, while sharpening their entrepreneurial spirit and focus. Furthermore, this fund will provide students with the ability to build connections with those already in the tech community--better preparing them to continue to build careers that align with their passions.
