Hello Bruins fans!

We wanted to reach out to give you all a recap on our successful 2019 season! At Nationals, we finished 6th in the nation, which is the highest we have finished since 2015. Furthermore, the Bruins took home some hardware, winning 5 First-team All American Awards (Sophie Kamanski, Emma Shahabi, Kendall Fitzgerald, Sally Nason, and Karina Yamasaki). We also picked up 2 Player of the Year Awards! Karina Yamasaki was honored as Attacker of the Year and Emma Shahabi was awarded Midfielder of the Year for the entire WCLA. We are so proud of our girls and the effort they put in all season to allow us to have such a strong finish at Nationals in Virginia Beach.

Last week, we attended the UCLA Club Sports Banquet where awards were presented to winners among 55 different club sports, over 250 student officers, and over 1,000 athletes. At the banquet, your lady laxers won Team of the Year, and Sophie Kamanski and Karina Yamasaki were awarded Athlete of the Year and Officer of the Year respectively.

Overall, we had an amazing season, not just in terms of the statistics and awards, but in terms of team spirit and camaraderie. We had such an great time traveling, practicing, and continuing to get to play the sport we love at a competitive level. We are SO grateful to all of you who have contributed to making this one of our most successful seasons to date, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hey Bruins fans! We are ecstatic to announce that your contributions and generosity have allowed us to achieve our $10,000 fundraising goal. We can’t thank you enough for your support. It means the absolute world to us, especially as we embark on our journey across the country to Virginia Beach tomorrow morning. We wouldn’t be able to get to Nationals without you! Be sure to tune in to our social media to stay up to date with our games next week! We will be playing the first game of the National tournament on May 8th, taking on CU Boulder at 2pm EST.

We are so excited to announce that the Bruins have qualified as the #3 seed for WCLA Nationals which will be played in Virginia Beach, Virginia from May 8-11. Check out all the info here! We are practicing hard these next 2 weeks to prep for the competition. Thank you for your support, without you, we would not be able to go to Nationals and compete at the highest level. GO BRUINS!

It was a HUGE weekend for the Bruins. Not only did we reach the 50% mark of our $10,000 Spark Campaign fundraising goal, but A Team also finished off an intense and competitive weekend of lacrosse as the WWLL League Champions! Seeded second going into the tournament, the Bruins pulled out a win against the first seeded SDSU Aztecs in a nail-biting championship game. This means your Bruins are guaranteed a spot at Nationals in Virginia Beach next month.

We can’t thank you enough for your contributions thus far! The 50% mark is a huge milestone for us, and we are so grateful for your generous donations that will help us keep chasing more Championship titles this season and in the future. :) Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and go Bruins!
