UCLA’s Asian American Studies Center is actively working to help our non-English speaking community members access accurate and up-to-date information about COVID-19. We are creating an online COVID-19 Multilingual Resource Hub with our partners at UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health to translate life-saving COVID-19 information to launch in mid-May. However, we do need your help.
We are kindly asking for your support of our AASC Covid-19 Response Fund, which provides funding to:
- Translate Articles: to inform our neighbors about how the virus spreads on objects and not only by contact with people.
- Translate Videos: to inform our communities about how to protect themselves by washing hands and wearing face mask to cover their noses and mouths.
- Save AAPI Lives: by sharing accurate information in people’s native languages, so we can help them stay safe and healthy.
Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 U.S. households, where an Asian or Pacific Island language is spoken, has a limited English speaking ability? Together, we can raise enough funds to hire professionals that can translate the technical medical language about COVID-19 that we are coming across, into multiple languages, for non-English speakers.
Please continue to share this campaign with those who might be able to help.
