Hi Bruin Family!

We’re your favorite internet sensation athletic team, UCLA Gymnastics. Katelyn Ohashi, Nia Dennis, or Gracie Kramer may have graced your social media pages during the past few years.  Each of them has garnered global attention and represent who we are: A team of smart, strong, sensational, women competing like champions for their Bruin sisters in ways that inspire nearly 2 million followers around the world.  We pride ourselves in the fact that our student-athletes succeed not only in the gym, but also in the classroom and in life.

In pursuit of an 8th NCAA Championship and a 20th Pac-12 Championship, our season was cut short by COVID-19 and the global pandemic.  Deep into preparations for our 2021 season, we look forward to your support in continuing to build on the UCLA Gymnastics legacy during these enormously challenging times.

It's said "it takes a village..." and it takes the support of our Bruin Family to help cultivate the legacy that is UCLA Gymnastics.   Your help can provide the fundamentals for a competitive year, even in uncertain times.  There are five critical areas of support we need for us to reach our potential:  1) Recovery Protocol 2) Equipment 3) Champions Program 4) the Bruins Inspire Campaign and 5) Operations. Challenges presented by COVID-19 and the loss of funds from our equipment supplier, put us in a much greater need for support from donors and fans than ever before.

The legacy of UCLA Gymnastics has been built over many years by going above and beyond the ordinary.  Today, we are lacking funds for some of the necessities.  Loss of revenue due to COVID-19 has left us with limited funds for operations, putting in jeopardy a standard of excellence you have come to expect.  Given our financial challenges, we are in need of support for leotards and championship track suits.  For years we have showcased gear and leotards for you that have artfully completed and reflected our performances.  You’ve seen our Bruins compete and train at the highest level week in and week out; that level of performance requires a recovery protocol that we still need to fund.   Emotional, and leadership skills are developed by the support of a team of proven professionals.  Getting access to our team will be harder than ever since fans won’t be allowed to watch our Bruins fly in our beloved, Pauley Pavilion.

To soar to the next level, to pursue championships, to foster the growth of extraordinary women, and to share our story with you in profound ways, we are relying on your generous support.  Your donations will go directly to building the five pillars essential for our success.  The first pillar is the Recovery Protocol.  The physical demands to perform at our very best week after week require sports massage and advanced nutritional support.  The cost of sports massage alone is $25,000.  The second pillar is our student-athletes’ Equipment needs.  With the loss of our equipment supplier, we have an enormous financial hole to fill. Between leotards, a championship track suit, and viral floor music our needs reach $30,000. 

The third pillar, the Champions Program, is about developing champions in life.  With $25,000 of support, we will provide a proven team of sports psychologists, team builders, leadership experts, and enhanced mental health professionals to our student-athletes.  This team of professionals helps to develop the ultimate team player, prepare them to thrive in an NCAA final, provide the tools to manage life’s setbacks, and help coach our student-athletes to lead in life after sport.  The fourth pillar is all about making sure you get to witness up close what it looks and feels like for our women to grow through adversity, build a championship culture, and fly in competition.  The Bruins Inspire Campaign is our video and social media arm that brings our story into your home.  It includes The New Era Documentary Series, video shorts, Bruin Banter, the pre-meet video, the photo shoot, and our social media posts.  With $40,000 of support, we can literally change people’s lives by sharing stories of resilience, confidence, joy, and team-love.  In a year when you won’t be able to watch us in person, sharing our video stories with you will be more valuable than ever.  The final pillar of support is for Operations.  At funding of $25,000, operations can ensure that all of our programs are executed seamlessly.  Whether it's our recruiting, video shoots, travel, home meets, practices, meals, fan and alumni outreach, student athlete housing, or how you’re reading this website right now, operations makes sure it's all getting done right. 

In these times, we want to be a beacon of light for you.  While the challenges are great, with your help, we can rise up, be our best, and inspire you with our authenticity, spirited performances, and team-love. Your support will help carry on one of the proudest legacies of Bruin Nation: the UCLA Women’s Gymnastics Team! 

The 2020-21 UCLA Gymnastics Team is committed to building a team founded on trust and driven to perform for the greatest gymnastics fans in the country.  While we have an enormous amount of work to do, we are inspired to battle our way back to championship form knowing you'll be cheering us on. We will dance, love each other, and share our journey with you.  We hope you join us in this never-to-be-duplicated adventure.
