Hugs in a Blanket donated 115 care packages to the staff working at the Kaiser South Bay vaccination clinics and 140 packages to the staff at Sharon Care Center! We really appreciate everything that our frontline workers are continuing to do during this time and hope everyone stays safe. Thank you again for helping us make these donations possible!

On April 30, Hugs in a Blanket donated 80 care packages to the staff working at the Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center Urgent Care. We're so glad to hear that all the staff members loved them and we are currently making an additional 60 packages for the staff working in the Adult Primary Care Department at Kaiser Permanente South Bay. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this possible and to all the frontline workers, we love and appreciate you!

Hugs in a Blanket donated 140 care packages filled with PPE to Mayor Garcetti's Crisis Response Team! The Crisis Response Team is a group of volunteers that provide on scene assistance to those involved in crisis events. We have donated blankets to CRT in the past and they've told us how our blankets given to the victims and their families were able to provide warmth and comfort during times of need. We are so thankful that we're able to continue supporting this amazing group during the pandemic and want to thank them for their service!

Hugs in a Blanket had the privilege of giving our care packages to the wonderful staff members working at the Toluca Burbank Dog & Cat Hospital! We want to thank all the pet care heroes who continue to work on the frontlines and help keep our animal friends healthy!

On March 16, Hugs in a Blanket gave 90 care packages to the postal workers working at the USPS branch in Sherman Oaks. They were all so appreciative that we thought of them and really loved the care packages! We will continue to reach out to other frontline workers to show our thanks for the work they do. Thank you again for supporting our Spark campaign to thank frontline workers. We are excited to announce that care packages are actively being assembled and will be distributed to 90 postal workers at the USPS branch in Sherman Oaks! Each care package will include: one face shield, one KN95 mask, one surgical mask, one travel size hand sanitizer, one handmade mask lanyard, three alcohol wipes, and a thank you card. I am writing this to provide you with an important update to our project. Due to changes in UCLA policy, Hugs in a Blanket will not be allowed to purchase gift cards with funds raised through the Spark campaign. Instead of giving gift cards, we will be distributing care packages to our frontline workers. These care packages will include masks, mask lanyards, hygiene products, and other useful items. Although we needed to alter our project, we know this plan will still be able to show our support and care for frontline workers in our community. 

We understand that this new project is different from what you originally supported. Because of this, we are offering for donors to receive their money back from this campaign and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Happy New Year! To kick off 2021, Hugs in a Blanket gave 55 thank you cards and gift cards to the firefighters stationed at Firehouse 9 in Downtown Los Angeles. Located in Skid Row, Firehouse 9 was named the busiest station in the country according to the Firehouse Magazine's 2017 National Run Survey. You can read more about the amazing work that Firehouse 9 does here. Hugs in a Blanket wants to thank all the amazing firefighters who are working to help keep our communities safe during the pandemic.
