The Undergraduate Research Centers will be able to help students just like Caliope make research their work – alleviating any financial burden and allowing them to participate in enriching opportunities. You heard right, and we have you to thank! When we reach 202.(1) participants today we will not only unlock $15,000 from the Dean’s challenge but also secure a gift to close the goal balance and help us reach $100,000. Undergraduate Research Week was truly memorable as we honored and celebrated our undergraduate researchers with over 30,000 virtual visitors. Along with more than 1,200 student presentations, we also hosted a variety of events including our Lunch Speaker Series, where students like our Beckman Scholars, were able to connect with UCLA alumni, faculty, and staff and ask questions and take in advice that would help them in their next career steps post-graduation.

You are an important part of the collective giving to support diverse student research in the sciences, arts, and social sciences for today and for the future. Today is the final day to celebrate the hard work of our resilient undergraduate researchers through giving as a community. With just 40 participants needed, help us reach the finish line by sharing your story of giving and that a gift of $1, $8, $20.21, or $100 will make all the difference.

What an incredible week! And it’s not over yet. This afternoon the UCLA Undergraduate Research Week Awards Ceremony will take place and honor Bruins with the Deans and Library prizes. A remarkable reminder that even in the most challenging times, UCLA's #BruinResearch spirit is still at an all-time high. 

Inspired by the outpouring support, with over 30,000 virtual visitors during this year’s Undergraduate Research & Creativity Showcase, Dean Adriana Galván is presenting a special giving challenge. When we reach 202 participants in honor of our hard-working and resilient undergraduate researchers who persevered this year, she will designate $15,000 discretionary donor funds for student support.

Yesterday, Undergraduate Research Week and our annual crowdfunding campaign officially kicked off! Thanks to your early support, we're at 100+ participants.

Yesterday, Dr. Andrea Ghez kicked us off by sharing her personal research journey that led to her recent recognition as the fourth woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. Today, don’t miss tuning into keynote speaker Dr. Michael Varney as he shares his path that led him to pioneer in pharmaceutical drug discovery and biotech.
