Our crowdfunding campaign will begin in February.
We are the UCLA Engineers Without Borders - Uganda Water Project team. The community of Bukonko, Uganda needs a source of clean water, and we need your help!
While most of us take clean water for granted, members of the Bukonko community suffer severe water-borne illnesses have become a part of everyday life. We strongly believe that access to safe water is a fundamental human right, and that is why our team is partnering with Light Up Hope Uganda, a local humanitarian organization, to build a reliable, long-lasting source of clean water for Bukonko. Our travel team visited the community in March 2022, where we will collected technical data to determine what type of structure we need to build. If our fundraising goal is met, we will be able to cover the costs of drilling a new borehole for the community, and we can plan for the construction of a solar-powered pumping system next year! Donate and give Bukonko its source of clean water!
These past few months, our team has been diligently preparing for the implementation phase. As a student-run team, fundraising efforts for a project that includes hefty drilling and construction fees fall to our student members.

Families for generations to come will inherit what we take for granted -- a source of clean water that can be used for bathing and doing household chores.
