Our crowdfunding campaign will begin in February.
Happy New Year from the UCLA EWB Uganda team! By the time our fundraising campaign ended two weeks ago, we surpassed our goal and raised $5,890! We are extremely grateful to all 99 of you who donated to our cause. Because of your support, we are able to fund our remote hydrogeological survey and water testing that will be conducted this or next month, and our travel team of student engineers will be able to fly to Bukonko in late March with less of a financial burden. Other plans that our team has for this quarter are to hold an AutoCAD workshop for our members, look into other side projects that the Bukonko community needs help with, and hold socials for team bonding. We will be posting updates at least once a quarter, especially as we near the date of our trip to the site, so please look out for that. Thank you all again for your support in helping our team bring clean water to Bukonko!

We are blown away by your overwhelming support these past three weeks. From Giving Tuesday two weeks ago, we raised $1,004, which brought us to more than two-thirds of the way to our goal. From these past three weeks, thanks to our 92 donors, over $4,000 has been raised for the EWB Uganda team altogether, and we are at 81% of our goal! Now, we are entering the fourth and final week of our campaign!
We have an important update on our project. As we had previously mentioned, our travel team was scheduled to depart to Uganda today on December 13th. However, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to postpone the trip due to security and safety concerns in Uganda. We do believe that we can keep the project timeline on track, with the hydrogeological survey to be conducted by a local contractor in January 2022, the postponed assessment trip planned for late March during spring break, and the implementation trip planned for late summer. Even with this schedule change, there will still be a lot to do next quarter, as we plan on holding AutoCAD workshops, mini-lectures on Ugandan history and culture, and much more!
With that said, we still need your help! There are just 8 days left to raise an additional $940, and we know that with your help we can get there. Our EWB Uganda team cannot thank you enough for helping us reach 42% of our goal in just six days since the launch of the campaign! Your generous contributions will directly fund our travel team as they embark on their first trip to Bukonko in two weeks to collect hydrogeological data and determine exactly what type of technology can be built.
