Dear friends,
It has officially been one year since we successfully raised over $5,000 to support the Vice-Provost's Initiative for Pre-College Scholars Program (VIPS), part of the Academic Advancement Program at UCLA. As you know, VIPS runs 3-week and 5-week long summer programs designed to help high school students from historically underrepresented backgrounds apply, get accepted, and attend UCLA and other top-tier universities.
This past summer, students were able to participate in college level academic courses, community advocacy training, holistic mentoring, UCLA Admissions workshops, and more. Your incredible generosity has allowed us to bring more scholars into the program and support expansion of our Junior Scholars program. In total, 98 students participated in VIPS this summer, including 27 students specifically in our KINGS program, designed for young men of color.
Thanks to your support, VIPS has made an incredible impact on the trajectories of these students.
