Help UCLA Club Swimming get to Nationals 2023!

Overview:

For over a decade UCLA Club Swimming has provided students with a supportive and competitive environment to continue their swimming career. We welcome all students and currently have over 150 swimmers registered with the club. Our dedicated members train all year at both team practices and on their own with the ultimate goal of competing at Collegiate Club Swimming  Nationals.

Last year, our club had our best performance ever, taking 30 swimmers to compete at Georgia Tech and achieving multiple top 10 finishes. This year, we hope to continue our momentum and take even more members to Nationals, which will be hosted at Ohio State from March 31st - April 2nd, 2023.

As California's first College Club Swimming team and the founding member of our league, our team leads the way on the West Coast. Other California teams look to us, and it is important that we represent with a large team at Nationals. However, with increased costs for flights and lodging, we need your help to get there! Please consider donating to our campaign to help UCLA lead California to Nationals!

What We Are Asking For:

The cost per swimmer for 2022 Nationals was roughly $900 due to increased flight prices. With the help of your generous donations, we were able to subsidize that cost by nearly 2/3, with each swimmer only paying $325 out of pocket. This helped us bring more members than ever before to Nationals! However, this trip is still very expensive, and after paying for tuition, textbooks, housing, and food, this extra cost is a huge burden on our swimmers.

If we reach our goal fundraising goal of $5,000, we will be able to put 75% of it towards sending our swimmers to Nationals. This can reduce the cost of the trip by $188 per swimmer! The club cannot subsidize the whole trip, and this will help us get the out of pocket cost for each swimmer to below $300! But we can only do this with your help!

Even though not all of our members will be attending Nationals this year, the Spark fundraiser still benefits all of our swimmers! Over the last few years, we have been working hard to purchase equipment for the team. We now have kickboards, paddles, and pull buoys. This year, 25% of the money we raise will be put towards purchasing fins!

Fins are an essential tool for training that would make our workouts better and our swimmers faster! However, most competitive brands cost around $30, and we need at least 40 pairs to accommodate every swimmer at a given practice. This would be an overall cost of roughly $1,200. If we reach our $5,000 goal, we will have just enough to purchase fins for our team!
