We Couldn't Have Done It Without You

May 03, 2023

To our amazing donor community:

We are overwhelmed by the incredible support we've received for our campaign for students' basic needs. We raised $52,593 from 330 UCLA families, students, and friends during our month-long fundraising effort. This is our most successful Parents' Council fundraiser to date - breaking our previous records by far (266 donors and $29,000).

As UCLA parents, this cause was near and dear to our hearts. We support our own students every day in a variety of ways throughout their college experience and wanted to extend that same feeling of comfort and security to other Bruins in need. With this additional funding from our campaign, UCLA Student Affairs is closer to meeting the demand of students and can continue their work - providing students with comprehensive support as they finish their degrees.

Every gift will make a difference in students' lives and we thank you again for joining us in our effort. You are an incredible part of our Bruin community.

Sincerely,

UCLA Parents' Council

We made history with the most successful Parents' Council fundraiser ever!

May 02, 2023

Our month long campaign to support students' basic needs is coming to an end on Tuesday, May 2nd at 11:59 pm. We are incredibly grateful to you, our Bruin community of parents, students, family and friends for coming together to make this our most successful Parents' Council fundraising effort ever. We surpassed both our initial donor count and dollar goal, and raised over $38,000 for basic needs! A very big thank you to all of our donors - this success wouldn't have been possible without you.

Together, your gifts will make meaningful changes, like provide temporary on-campus housing for 77 students, purchase 386 grocery gift cards, teach 154 financial wellness workshops or provide 4,827 hot meals for students. We are blown away by the support of this campaign and the impact of your giving will be felt by many. Thank you for affirming that individuals from all walks of life not only belong, but can thrive at UCLA.

There are a few hours left in our campaign, we'd love your help spreading the word in these final hours to anyone who hasn't yet had a chance to hear about this effort. Please share this link tonight before midnight! spark.ucla.edu/pcbasicneeds

Sincerely,

UCLA Parents' Council
