Thank you for your generous support of our Spark campaign to make a 2017 Sex Squad movie. This endeavor was our most ambitious yet: not only creating film versions of UCLA Sex Squad material, but also documenting the work of two of our High School Sex Squads. We have an exciting update to share: we've got a new website in the works to display all of the Sex Squads' films and accompanying workshops! This will create a unique digital platform of arts-based resources for health teachers and professionals to teach sex-ed in creative and fun ways!
We appreciate so much the support of this community, who make our work possible and believe in creating a safer world for our youth. Thanks to your generous support, we have been very busy story-boarding, prop hunting, location scouting, and collaborating to bring you an all-new Sex Squad movie! Over the weekend, our dedicated crew of Sex Squad members and film team shot eight new scenes in three days - no small feat! Also joining the UCLA Sex Squad on set, for the very first time we merged forces with the Monroe Sex Squad and Wilson Sex-Ed Squad to bring you two High School Sex Squad scenes with our new movie.
We are so excited to bring these scenes from our live show to the digital world, where they will be accessible to new generations of health classrooms in Los Angeles and beyond. In challenging times like these, when both arts education and access to medically accurate, choice-affirming sexual health education are threatened, your support of our program means that more and more young people in the US will benefit from ingress to the Sex Squad curriculum.
