Bruin Racing Campaign

Founded in 2010 by a group of ambitious UCLA students, Bruin Racing (Previously UCLA Racing) aims to complement its members' theoretical educations with real-world experience by building competition standard cars to compete against universities from across the world. Initially a single Racing team, Baja SAE, Bruin Racing has expanded to encompass two more: Formula SAE and SuperMileage Vehicle. This expansion has enabled students to engage in manufacturing vehicles within different principles: endurance, speed and mileage.

By participating in the design, construction, and testing of a prototype vehicle, Racing members gain hands-on experience that teaches them the practical and teamwork skills necessary to succeed in industry. Students learn every aspect of developing a vehicle, eventually choosing a technical area to specialize in. They also learn important business skills such as accounting, purchasing, and securing funding, making them multi-talented and well-prepared for entrepreneurship opportunities. With the skills and experience gained participating in our club, our alumni have gone on to find great success in all areas of the workforce.

In this coming year, we've got new cars to build, competitions to compete in, and students to empower. And we'd like your help to do so.

Our Spark Campaign will raise funds to get new machines for the student Racing shop to help students manufacture parts for our cars, will support our drivers get formal precision driving training, and help get us to competitions.  Please help us reach our goal by donating today! We have three teams competing on our Fundraiser- Formula, Baja, and SuperMileage Vehicle.

Formula: We build a real Racecar- with low weights and aggressively aerodynamic designs, Speed is our only currency, Formula SAE provides its team with engineering experience by building an open-wheel racecar to compete against universities from across the world in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Our team has built and competed with two cars to date, and is in the process of producing our third car for this year's competition.

Baja: We're the original Racing team, and our cars prove it. WIth a respectable standing in the Racing world, our cars battle it out through dirt, mud, sand and any obstacles that the competition throws at us. With four cars in our back pockets and a new one being built, we're just about ready for competition this year.

SuperMileage Vehicle: We're basically all you need, should the energy apocalypse actually occur. With a car that goes 496 miles per gallon of gasoline, we're well respected in America's SuperMileage competitions. We're a team looking straight into the future, where Fuel Economy may just be the only economy.
