Thank you to all of our supporters for getting us to 25% of our Fundraising goal in less than two days!
We've had some great response and interest so far, and we're excited to keep it up!
We were also lucky enough to be featured in the Choking Prevention Video created by 'Kids in the House'! (www.kidsinthehouse.com)
Thanks again, and keep spreading the word!
#EatSAFE
I am thrilled to publicly thank Dr. and Mrs. Irwin and Carol Harris, two beloved and long time supporters of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery and our work Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat.
They recently made an extraordinary impact to the #EatSAFE project by generously donating $1000 to our campaign to prevent food choking accidents in children. I am honored and touched by their gift, and will proudly list them in our EatSAFE brochure.
Dr. and Mrs. Harris, thank you for championing this project, and empowering us to get critical information to more than 2,000 more families. Your gift gets us one step closer to stopping childhood choking accidents in the U.S.!
The UCLA EatSAFE Project was featured today on "Valentine in the Morning"
on 104.3 MyFM! Valentine, Kevin Manno, and I chatted about food choking risks, and they
are helping to spread the word about this important campaign!

Thanks to the extraordinary support of so many interested in preventing food choking accidents in children, we achieved our initial goal of $5000 in just 13 days!
Building off this amazing outreach and support, I would like to announce that we have the unique opportunity to stretch our goal to an additional $5000!
This would allow the #EatSAFE campaign to reach a total of 20,000 families throughout the United States. Our initial goal was to provide materials to families in the Los Angeles region. We can now reach families throughout California, as well as other states.
I cannot thank all of you enough for such wonderful support of such an important cause.
We will continue to post updates in the coming weeks!
Thanks so much again!
#EatSAFE,
Nina
Thanks so much to Actor and Voice Artist Erin Torpey for sharing her son's story. At age 3 years, he had a frightening food choking event.
Her experience alerts parents and caregivers to better understand the real risks of unsafe foods for young children.
Thanks to your support, we've continued our project, even after reaching our funding goal. If we can get to $10,000 in the coming days, we can provide life-saving information for up to 20,000 families nationwide!
Please share this update with friends, colleagues, and family!
Thanks so much!
#EatSAFE,
Nina
