Herb Alpert School of Music Senior Campaign

Since 1919, graduating seniors just like you have come together to make small, symbolic donations in honor of their time at UCLA and in recognition of the accomplishments yet-to-come from future Bruins. Because your UCLA education and many of the opportunities available to students here are directly made possible thanks to annual contributions from alumni, parents, and members of the community, the Senior Class Gift challenge seeks to continue to the tradition of paying it forward.

Students from the Herb Alpert School of Music were asked to identify a cause within the school that all students would want to support but there were just too many! Instead of focusing on one specific problem to solve, the school students just hope that the Class of 2018 will give back to the cause or department that is most meaningful to them. Ultimately, it's your participation that matters!

• ​Department of Ethnomusicology: Choose to support a UCLA program which has been around since the 1960s! Your gift will support Ethnomusicology specifically and might support things like growing the school's large collection of unique instruments from different parts of the world.

• Department of Music: Your donation will support the Department of Music, and may be used to enhance one of the various performance groups like UCLA Philharmonia, Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Chorale, Chamber Singers, Camarades, Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Contempo Flux , Opera UCLA, or one of the string, wind and brass chamber groups.

• Department of Musicology: Gifts made to the Department of Musicology will ensure that UCLA continues to make progress as Bruins study the history, cultural contexts, and interpretation of music.

• Herb Alpert School of Music: Student Scholarship Fund: Scholarships help UCLA create a student population marked by excellence and diversity commensurate with a world-class university and the UC's first school of Music. Your gift will directly enhance the life of another student!

• Herb Alpert School of Music: Dean's Opportunity Fund: When you donate the Dean's Opportunity Fund, you're allowing our young school to remain flexible with our extra resources. Although we can't say exactly the kind of impact your gift will make, you should know that it's going to add value to your degree!
